TURKISH BIOPHYSICAL SOCIETY PAPERS SUBMISSION RULES
General Information
The Scientific Committee decides whether the papers submitted for presentation at scientific meetings will be oral or poster presentations.
The studies to be awarded among the oral and poster presentations presented at the meetings are selected by the Scientific Committee in accordance with the Turkish Biophysical Association (TBA) Congress Organization Directive.
Conditions for Submitting Papers
Abstracts must be sent via TBA’s official website and by the stated deadline.
The author who applies for and presents the paper must have completed the congress registration procedures.
An author may apply to present a maximum of two papers, and may be a co-author of more papers without presenting them.
Authors may choose to present their papers as “oral” and/or “poster” presentations, but the Scientific Committee has the right to change the presentation format.
Abstract Writing Rules
1- A topic must be selected for the abstract.

2. The abstract should not exceed 300 words (excluding the title, speaker and institution names).
3. Abstracts should be sent with attention to Turkish spelling rules. In congresses organized with international cooperation and/or in cases where congress abstracts are published in journals included in international indexes, there should be an English abstract in addition to the Turkish abstract.
4. The abstract should be structured and written using the introduction and purpose, methods, findings and conclusion headings.
Introduction and Purpose: The purpose and objectives of the study and the hypothesis or problem being tested should be defined.
Methods: The method(s) and subjects should be described and the study setting used should be described, treatments and interventions, and statistical analysis should be specified.
Findings: Should be written in as clear a language as possible and should include absolute statistical results.
Conclusion: The data and the main conclusion of the study should be clearly stated and the importance of these results should be emphasized.
5. Keywords should not exceed 3, maximum 5.
6. References should be listed at the end of the paper. The reference should be indicated in parentheses in the paragraph it contains.
Criteria for the Scientific Board to give feedback to authors and decide on the rejection of papers:
The Scientific Board may decide to accept the report as is, accept it with changes, or reject it, and shares the reasons for these decisions with the report owners. The Scientific Board decides to reject the report when at least one of the following situations occurs:
– When it is clearly demonstrated that the experiments were not conducted in accordance with the “Animal Ethics Committee”,
– In determining whether an ethical document has not been obtained in accordance with the “Declaration of Helsinki” criteria in a human study,
– When the paper contains previously published data and results,
– When the data for the report is too little or too insufficient.
Rules to be observed for verbal notifications
Please be at the congress area at your presentation time.
Presentations are limited to a maximum of 15 minutes, including 10 minutes for presentation and 5 minutes for question and answer.
Presentations should be prepared in Microsoft PowerPoint format.
Slides should be in English-Turkish, presentations should preferably be in English-Turkish.
Your presentation should be delivered to the technical team at least 2 presentations before the scheduled time.
Rules to be considered for poster presentations
-Prepare your posters in 70×100 cm size.
-Recommended sections to include in your poster: title, authors’ names, authors’ university, faculty and department information, introduction, method, conclusion, references and acknowledgements.
-You must be present at your poster during your poster session. Posters that are not presented will be removed from the abstract book.
